Adult Development and Training
Volunteers are the heart of the Scouts and we want you to get every bit as much out of it as you put in.
We know that Scouting is not only about young people, but also about the development of our volunteers. To support Scout volunteers, we believe that the adventurous activities permit scheme should be accessible to all.
In doing so, we will not only develop our amazing volunteers, but also provide more opportunities to our young people.
District Organised Training
It has always been the view of the District that opportunities should be made available as often as possible, across a broad range of permits within the Adventurous Activities Permit Scheme.
Any training that is organised at district level shall be funded in it's entirety by the district for district members who wish to join that training.
Members within Elstree and District will be offered 14 days of priority to book onto any training, before wider bookings (which are charged back to the individual) are opened to other groups or districts.
All funded training is subject to approval on an individual basis by either the DC or DDC (Adult Support) who should consider the value of a particular leader being allowed to undertake this training, and the ROI for our Young People. The DC and DDC (Adult Support) may decline an individual from attending training if they, for whatever reason, deem an adult as unsuitable.
County Organised Training
Hertfordshire Scouts Activity Centres (HSAC) regularly arrange training courses and opportunities.
If an adult wishes to book onto a HSAC training course, they should initially approach their GSL, to discuss the need for the training.
